Many railways have stopped running steam locomotives over the past month due to the fire risk. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR) is one of those railways. The railway has commented that despite the disappointment over the lack of steam, it has given its diesels a chance to shine. The steam ban continues, especially for those connected to the national rail network, but the number of people showing interest in diesels has grown at GWSR. On the 24th-26th July, the railway hosted a diesel gala, which was one of its most successful to date.
