The East Lancashire Railway has announced that unrestored carriages are now on sale. It is unlikely that the railway will be able to restore them, and the money from the sale will be put towards other aspects of the railway. Items available include BR MkI RMB 1848, BR MkI FO 3124, VDA Air Braked Van, BR MkI CK 15928, and, more notably, Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ambulance/Cinema Carriage 604. Carriage 604 has a rich history, but now stands as an empty shell.
