The team, based at Langwathby near Penrith, was activated at 11.35am to reports of a patient in need of urgent specialist care on the island.
Within minutes, the charity’s Pride of Cumbria II helicopter was airborne, routing across the Irish Sea and reaching the patient 34 minutes after the call‑out.
On arrival, the critical care crew worked to stabilise the patient at the scene, delivering advanced pre‑hospital treatment normally found only in major trauma centres.
After the patient was made safe for transfer, the team departed the Isle of Man at 1.05pm to begin the return leg to England.
The Pride of Cumbria II completed the flight back to the mainland in 29 minutes, taking the patient directly to a specialist hospital for further treatment.
