Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 11.33am on July 31 following reports that a walker had become stuck while scrambling on the slopes of Base Brown, above Taylorgill Force. However, the ground quickly became “intimidatingly steep” with no obvious escape route. Once located, rescuers used a confidence rope to help him descend the steep ground safely back to the main path below. Keswick Mountain Rescue Team regularly attends incidents in the Borrowdale area, where steep and complex terrain can quickly catch out walkers and scramblers, particularly those venturing off established routes.
