He became unwell in a remote area while walking the Cumbria Way with his partner on Sunday August 2. A medical issue caused the man to fall and he was unable to continue. Cumbria Police alerted Coniston Mountain Rescue Team at around 4.48pm. Two Land Rovers were sent to the nearest road access point before reaching the casualty on foot.
