Cumberland Council has issued an emergency temporary road closure on Brook Street, warning of a “likelihood of danger” caused by defects in the road surface. The closure affects Brook Street from its junction with London Road, heading north east for approximately 450 metres. Drivers are being diverted along a signed alternative route via Greystone Road, Warwick Road, Eastern Way and London Road. Despite the closure, access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained throughout the duration of the works.
