The sessions are being organised by Thames Water this summer to raise awareness about preventing pollution, protecting wildlife, and keeping water habitats safe and healthy. Rob, a Network Engineer for Home Counties at Thames Water, said: "Local lakes, ponds and streams are important community and environmental ecosystems, and we know how much residents value them. "Many pollution incidents affecting surface water drains are caused by substances such as oil being disposed of incorrectly. The sessions follow a series of pollution incidents in Bracknell, including oil being dumped into surface water drains that lead directly to nearby lakes and ponds. Visitors will have the chance to speak with Thames Water staff, learn how surface water drainage systems work, and find out how to properly dispose of waste materials like oil to avoid environmental harm.
