Unplanned electricity outages have been reported in parts of Essex, as well as in Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridge. A small number of properties in or around Tiptree, Rayleigh, Great Leighs, Great Dunmow and Thaxted have been affected by the power outages. UK Power Networks said it was investigating the faults and has sent engineers to the affected areas. A spokesperson said: "We believe the issue is an overhead network fault that initially interrupted power to 1,370 properties." More than 1,600 properties in Norfolk have been affected, as well as almost 300 properties in Suffolk.
