Hyderabad NIMS completes 1,000 robotic surgeries, 90% done free under govt schemes

Hyderabad: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has achieved a major healthcare milestone by successfully completing 1,000 robotic surgeries within a span of two and a half years.
Dr Rahul Devaraj, Director of NIMS, along with senior doctors and staff, met Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha at the Secretariat on Monday to share the achievement.
90% of surgeries were done for freeDr Devaraj emphasised that over 90 per cent of these surgeries were provided completely free of cost to patients through government welfare schemes like Aarogyasri and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
This initiative has made otherwise expensive robotic procedures accessible to the public and low-income families.
