Exploring themes of deafness, communication and the struggle to be heard, the project could hardly be more personal for KT. KT has written the music, drawing heavily on her own experiences as both a performer and someone living with significant hearing loss. KT’s sudden loss of hearingKT’s younger brother Dan was born profoundly deaf, and the singer herself experienced sudden hearing loss in 2018. Her own hearing loss came suddenly following a long-haul flight and a performance while she was already experiencing tinnitus. While some musicians choose not to discuss hearing loss publicly, KT has always been open about her experience.
