A Ligonier Township girl urged township officials to make building a splash pad “a top priority” at the new Ligonier Beach Park. The cost of a splash pad, which Mackin Engineering said would double as a traditional skating rink in the winter, would be $600,000. The expansive splash pad at the new municipal park cost $800,000 for the equipment and installation, Siko said. The splash pad that was built in 2019 at Murrysville Community Park “is used extensively,” said Carly Greene, Murrysville recreation director. The Ligonier Township park remains closed until at least Aug. 13.
