(ABC 6 News) — The first weekend of August, Lanesboro celebrated its annual Buffalo Bill days, with a grand parade as a final showdown of events August 2. The summer festival is in honor of Buffalo Bill, who in part history, part legend, came up with the original idea for his famous Wild West show in a Lanesboro saloon in the 1870s. ‘Buffalo Bill’ himself also made an appearance in the parade, firing his rifle into the air as his actor walked the downtown streets. He also said Lanesboro’s deep Wild West history brings his town together. In Lanesboro, Buffalo Bill Days will be back the first weekend in August 2027.
