A U.S. MQ-9 drone was shot down over the Strait of Hormuz. This is reflected in a report issued by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). "The MQ-9 drone was tracked and shot down in the Strait of Hormuz using modern air defense equipment of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Forces," the report said. In response, Tehran began strikes against U.S. facilities located in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. The Iranian side is currently stating that the Strait of Hormuz is closed.
