GoldStar Insurance Company Limited has marked its 30th anniversary with a tree planting initiative at Kira Primary School in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, where 150 fruit and indigenous trees were planted to promote environmental conservation. The initiative, conducted in partnership with My Tree Initiative Uganda and five Rotary Clubs — Namugongo, Bukerere, Bweyogerere Central, Kyambogo and Kira — is part of GoldStar’s anniversary campaign themed “30 Years. GoldStar staff joined pupils to plant fruit trees, including avocado, mango, guava and jackfruit, alongside indigenous shade trees such as Mugavu, Musambya, Ensaali and Entasesa. GoldStar Chief Operations Officer Enock Mudadi said the tree planting drive reflects the company’s commitment to protecting communities beyond insurance services. My Tree Initiative Uganda will continue monitoring the project through maintenance, survival tracking, GPS mapping and regular visits to ensure the trees grow successfully.
