The robotic procedures included complex surgeries for prostate, bladder, kidney transplants, liver, pancreas, intestines, ovaries, and uterus, as well as critical cancer treatments. More than 90 per cent of these 1,000 robotic surgeries were provided completely free of charge to patients through government welfare schemes, including Aarogyasri and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), NIMS Hospital said on Monday.
