Anubhav Sinha’s career-transforming film Mulk was released on 3 August in 2018. And yet Mulk, which turned 8 on August 3, doesn’t take sides, doesn’t make the Indian Muslim community a portrait of injured innocence. The minute the trailer of Mulk came out Anubhav started receiving calls from friends in India and abroad. The isolation of the Indian Muslim due to the acts of some terrorists is an issue that should bother all of us. We can no longer sweep the isolation of the Indian Muslim under the carpet.
