Graham has reached financial close on a £530m redevelopment of the University of Manchester’s Fallowfield campus. The contractor will deliver 3,300 student rooms through a 50-year partnership involving the university, infrastructure investor Equitix and pensions insurer Rothesay. The scheme is intended to become the world’s largest single-phase Passivhaus-certified purpose-built student accommodation development. Graham Investment Projects strategic development director Neil McFarlane said financial close allowed the partners to move into project delivery. He said: “Fallowfield is the largest Passivhaus student accommodation project in the world, as well as being the largest precast MMC-centred development in the UK.”
