The angler’s vehicle is one of fishing’s most reliable social signals.
It can be a mud-caked pickup or a sensible crossover (the preferred ride of serious suburban anglers in my neighbourhood) or even a subcompact.
Sometimes, especially with vehicles belonging to unmarried anglers, there’s a faint smell, something between neoprene and river water, that no air freshener can fully defeat.
We all share the same fishing dreams and the same pull to be on the water.
