DSS Ambush Kills Notorious Bandit Leader, 60 Terrorists in KatsinaA major intelligence-led operation by the Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and local hunters, has reportedly eliminated notorious bandit kingpin Idi Abasu Aiki and more than 60 suspected terrorists in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State. The attackers were reportedly seeking revenge for losses suffered during an earlier confrontation with local hunters in Dawan Laila village. Security sources said the DSS and its partners laid a carefully coordinated ambush after receiving intelligence on the movement of the armed group. However, four members of the local security team were also killed during the fierce exchange of gunfire. The DSS has yet to issue an official statement confirming the operation or the casualty figures.
