Officers say a red Mazda, with a smashed rear window, was found in Ayrshire following a serious assault and disturbance on the M74 on Sunday, August 2. A 63-year-old man was seriously assaulted and taken to hospital, where he remains for treatment to serious injuries. Detective Sergeant Craig Wait said: “We believe this was a targeted attack on the group of motorcyclists and it’s vital we trace the people responsible. Were you on the M74 near Lesmahagow yesterday and saw what happened? "Did you see the motorcyclists or vehicles before the incident or the red Mazda and other vehicles leaving the scene?
