Today, Adam lives with his wife, Birindi Arako, and their children in Bouroumbia 1, in Chad’s Lac Province. Across Lac Province, insecurity, floods, drought and increasingly unpredictable rainfall are placing mounting pressure on families’ livelihoods. Insecurity linked to non-state armed groups has disrupted fishing, farming and trade, while climate shocks threaten crops and livestock.
