Carolyn was born on Feb. 10, 1941, in Ohio. She is a graduate of Sulphur High School and McNeese State of University. She began her teaching career at Lake Arthur High School in the fall of 1963 and stepped away from teaching to raise her family before returning to teaching at Lacassine High School in the fall of 1987 until she retired in May of 2007. She was an active member of Iowa First United Methodist Church and made sure her daughters were involved in church. She devoted her life to each of her three daughters; whether it be 4-H events, basketball, track, livestock shows, etc.
