Kazakhstan’s Almaty region outlines $15bln investment project pipeline

Almaty Region of Kazakhstan is advancing a portfolio of 283 investment projects worth around 8 trillion tenge ($16.9 billion), with plans to create more than 154,000 jobs, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov said during a meeting of the Regional Investment Headquarters.
The meeting, attended by representatives of government bodies and the business community, focused on supporting investment projects, improving the investment climate and addressing issues faced by investors.
"Almaty Region is a strategically important agro-industrial, industrial and transport-logistics region of the country and one of the key growth points of Kazakhstan’s economy," Kuantyrov said.
The investment portfolio of Almaty Region is currently being supported through the National Digital Investment Platform and targeted mechanisms designed to assist investors throughout project implementation.
The Regional Investment Headquarters also reviewed measures aimed at improving conditions for business activity and accelerating the launch of new production facilities in the region.
