These champions of the people are the rights of way team at Wiltshire Council.
The rights of way team are tasked with maintaining and amending the Definitive Map – the legal record of public rights of way in England and Wales since the conclusion of World War II.
Recently, legal documents from the 1600s and maps from the 1700s have been instrumental in establishing rights of way.
The dedicated rights of way team in Wiltshire remains committed to safeguarding footpaths, bridleways, and byways for public enjoyment... for as long as legislation permits.
