“Ted Lasso” returns for season 4 on Wednesday, Aug. 5, but not everyone is returning for the next chapter of the Apple TV series. In seasons 1-3 of “Ted Lasso,” the titular soccer coach, played by Jason Sudeikis, coached the men’s English soccer team AFC Richmond. Sudeikis isn’t the only “Ted Lasso” star returning for season 4. News, Sudeikis, who co-created “Ted Lasso,” explained why he wanted season 4 to be about women’s soccer. Season 4 of “Ted Lasso” premieres on Apple TV on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 9 p.m.
