Andrew Timmins, 39, of Ponsharden, Falmouth, was sentenced at Truro Magistrates’ Court on Monday after previously admitting assault by beating.
The court heard police were called to an address in Gweek on November 28 last year following reports Timmins had assaulted his father.
The prosecutor said Timmins’ parents, who lived in the main property, heard banging coming from the annexe where their son was staying with his dog.
When asked about the imposition of a restraining order preventing contact with his parents, Timmins told the court he had no interest in seeing them again.
Restraining orders were made preventing him from contacting his parents or attending their address in Gweek, except on one occasion accompanied by police to collect his belongings.
