ABERDEEN — Mitchell golfers swept the men’s and women’s state titles at the South Dakota Golf Association’s Match Play Championships held July 30-Aug. 2 at Moccasin Creek Country Club. Brandon Sigmund claimed the men’s match play title to complete the career SDGA grand slam, while Allison Meyerink edged out Maddie Childs, also of Mitchell, in the final to win the women’s match play title. ADVERTISEMENTSigmund defeated Hartford’s Radley Mauney 3-and-1 in the men’s final to finish off his run through the 16-man bracket. A former winner of the SDGA’s Two-Man and Amateur state titles, the triumph checked off a major milestone by rounding out a career slam. Meyerink advanced through Huron’s Bryn Huber in the quarterfinals and Watertown’s Brynn Roehrich in the semifinals, both by 3-and-2 scores.
