(NewsNation) — Social Security beneficiaries can expect a mostly normal payment schedule in August, though Supplemental Security Income recipients already received their August payment on July 31 because Aug. 1 fell on a weekend. The next SSI payment is scheduled for Sept. 1. The Social Security Administration continues to encourage beneficiaries to use direct deposit or other electronic payment methods as it phases out paper checks. Fewer than 1% of beneficiaries still receive paper checks, according to the agency. If the payment still has not arrived, beneficiaries are advised to contact the Social Security Administration or their local SSA office.
