Lagos has been confirmed as the host city for the 2026 CAF Awards, one of African football’s premier annual events honoring the continent’s top players, coaches, clubs, national teams and administrators, according to Vanguard. Lekan Fatodu, director-general of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), announced that the ceremony will be held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu, formerly known as the National Theatre. The annual awards recognize outstanding achievements in African football across several categories, including Men’s Player of the Year, Women’s Player of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year and Club of the Year. Nigeria has previously hosted the CAF Awards on several occasions, most recently in Lagos in 2017.
