CareMalta Group chief operating officer Noel Borg, together with Lara Grech, CareMalta Group operations manager, attended the course in July. The objective of the course was to foster discussions on foundational, clinical-ethical and organisational-ethical approaches to dementia care. It also discussed ethical issues that are central to contemporary debates in dementia care, including dealing with sexual expression, advance care planning, euthanasia and other end-of-life issues. The course introduced participants to a variety of stakeholders’ perspectives on ethics in dementia care, including patients, relatives, nurses, physicians, institutional managers, and society at large. It also aimed to establish exchange among national and international experts with respect to ethics in dementia care.
