Get our free mobile appMinnesota's New Law Banning Cryptocurrency Kiosks Takes EffectA news release issued by the Rochester Police Department says it has investigated numerous reports of individuals being manipulated by scammers to deposit thousands of dollars in cash into the kiosks. Rochester police began working with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office last year to push for stronger protections and to “address the harm associated with cryptocurrency kiosks,” the news release says. “Legitimate organizations will not direct you to pay with cryptocurrency to resolve an emergency, pay a fine, protect your money or avoid arrest,” the news release says.
