Italy's Prysmian is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire U.S.-based electrical products manufacturer Atkore Inc. in a deal that could strengthen its position in the global electrical infrastructure market. The proposed transaction would mark another strategic expansion for Prysmian, one of the world's leading manufacturers of power and telecommunications cables, as demand for electrical infrastructure continues to grow across industries. Atkore, a U.S. manufacturer of electrical, safety, and infrastructure products, had a market capitalization of approximately $2.46 billion at Friday's market close. An acquisition would enhance Prysmian's exposure to the North American market while broadening its portfolio of electrical solutions. Neither Prysmian nor Atkore has publicly commented on the reported negotiations.
