Bhubaneswar: With flood fury subsiding in Odisha, the state government on Monday announced compensation up to Rs 1.20 lakh each for families whose houses have been completely destroyed in the recent floods. As per the relief package, families whose houses have been fully damaged will receive compensation of up to Rs 1.20 lakh each. Those with partially damaged kutcha houses will be provided Rs 4,000 each, while households with fully damaged huts will receive Rs 8,000 each. To mitigate the plight of farmers affected by floods, the government has also announced compensation for agricultural losses. Farmers will receive Rs 8,500 per hectare for crop damage caused by the floods in rainfed (unirrigated) land.
