A teenage girl died at Kendal Calling festival in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 2) , police have said. Cumbria Police have said the 17-year-old suffered a medical episode at around 2.00am on Sunday and was pronounced dead at the scene, despite interventions from emergency responders. A Kendal Calling spokesperson said the festival team was supporting authorities with their investigation. The spokesperson added the team was “deeply saddened” by the teenager’s death and extended “deepest sympathy” to her loved ones. This year, Kendal Calling marked its 21st anniversary, with headliners at this year’s four-day festival featuring acts including Wolf Alice, Biffy Clyro, Primal Scream, Scissor Sisters and The Libertines.
