Born in Greater London in 1926, Ms Hardy has lived in Wallingford for 67 years and has been a resident at Westgate House since June 2024. She completed her final lap on her birthday, surrounded by fellow residents, Westgate House colleagues, and members of the local community. The challenge was suggested by a care home volunteer who thought she could mark her 100th birthday by walking 100 laps of the garden. Mark Hoskins, deputy mayor of Wallingford, attended the event and said: "This is my first visit to Westgate House, and I was immediately drawn to the community feel here. "She has embraced life at Westgate House fully and has become such an important part of the community here.
