Hunsdon House Garden School Nursery in Osler Road, Headington, closed its doors at the end of the summer term after providing childcare to locals for more than a century. It was founded just after World War One and moved into the purpose-built Hunsdon House in 1928, and was run by a succession of long-tenured managers. Hunsdon House Garden School, Headington (Image: Hunsdon House)Now, the building and its grounds will be transformed into an art studio by Frances Deepwell, the daughter of building owner Rosemarie Deepwell who took over the space in 1974. Ms Angeleri ran it as a garden school under lease from the Trust, and many children educated there went on to have successful careers across sectors. Deepwell Arts will host an open evening on Sunday, August 9, and has launched a summer programme of events for the rest of August.
