SEC cites lower fees as boost to MSMEs

THE Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said lower regulatory fees and other incentives are helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) reduce costs and free up capital for business expansion.
The SEC said it has introduced several measures in recent years to reduce the regulatory burden on MSMEs, including lower fees for corporate documents, business registration, and amendments to corporate papers.
In 2025, the SEC cut fees for corporate document requests by 50% and increased the discount to 75% in 2026.
The SEC also offers a 20% discount on corporate registration fees for MSMEs and a 25% discount on fees for amendments to articles of incorporation involving increases in capital stock.
The three-day caravan featured discussions on company registration, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and financing options available through the capital market.
