Jihad al-Sami, the perpetrator of Thursday’s (02.10.2025) terrorist attack at a synagogue in Manchester, was previously released on bail pending trial for rape charges. Al-Sami resided in Prestwich, Manchester, and had never been monitored by authorities or enrolled in the UK’s counter-radicalization “Prevent” program. The family of Adrian Dolby, one of the victims, released his photo, calling him a hero who saved others during the attack. Dolby, present at the synagogue, reportedly blocked the attacker from entering the prayer hall, according to Manchester Police. Less than 24 hours after the attack, police admitted one of the two victims was fatally struck by police fire during efforts to neutralize the attacker.
