Renowned clarinet virtuoso and traditional Greek musician Gregoris Kapsalis passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 69. Gregoris Kapsalis was one of us—a great master, an exceptional teacher. He collaborated with major figures of Epirotic music, including Filippos Rountas, the Chalkiades brothers, and Chronis Kapsalis. He performed across Greece and internationally, including at the Athens Concert Hall in 1993 during a tribute to leading folk clarinetists. He also taught clarinet at the Music Gymnasium of Doliani, Ioannina.
