Sophomore Gopher men’s hockey players LJ Mooney, Mason Moe and Jacob Rombach are representing Team USA at the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase, which runs from July 26 to Aug. 1. Each summer, USA Hockey invites top junior players to its National Junior Evaluation Camp and World Junior Summer Showcase. Team USA match has become a World Juniors rivalry in recent years, with the two teams combining to win the last three IIHF World Junior Championship titles. During their first two meetings in the summer showcase, Team USA opened with 6-1 and 6-4 wins over Sweden. Team USA closed the summer showcase 7-2 on Saturday against Canada, with Cullen recording three goals.
