The local community in Gonnoi, Larissa, is in shock after a 47-year-old woman died at the Gonnoi Health Center during the night of Friday, October 3, 2025. The woman was transported by ambulance to the facility from the village of Aigani, about 35 kilometers away. Tragically, she suffered cardiac arrest during transit and arrived at the health center pulseless with dilated pupils, according to a statement from the 5th Health Region. Despite resuscitation efforts by doctors performing CPR, the woman could not be saved. The incident occurred when the emergency ambulance departed Gonnoi at 23:31, picked up the patient at 23:55, and arrived at the center at 00:31.
