Ganderbal/Kargil, Aug 2: Heavy rainfall accompanied by cloudbursts triggered flash flood situations in parts of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district and Ladakh's Kargil district on Sunday. While significant damage was reported in Ganderbal's Safapora area, officials said no damage or loss of life was reported from the Tumail area of Kargil. Fruit orchards and agricultural fields also remained inundated, raising fears of damage to standing crops and this season's harvest. Meanwhile, a cloudburst was also reported from the Tumail area of Kargil district. However, officials confirmed that no damage to property or infrastructure and no loss of life was reported from the area.
