The BC Wildfire Service says increasing winds this weekend through the Fraser Canyon may push the wildfires in the area to the south.
The Brunswick Complex is made up of the Brunswick Creek and Ainslie Creek wildfires, both of which began near the Boston Bar area, but have grown significantly over the past several weeks.
“Wind speeds continued to increase overnight, with outflow winds through the canyon today moving south down valleys, which has the potential to increase fire behaviour as fuels dry,” the wildfire service said.
There continues to be active wildfire behaviour five to six kilometres west of Stoyoma mountain but there’s been no significant growth east into the alley that lies south of the mountain.
