The Muskies finished the season 21-14-1 and were just three wins shy of a second consecutive NABF World Series title. In Saturday’s loss to the Diesel, it was 25-year Muskie veteran Brandon DuBois nearly carried the team to the semifinals. The Muskies rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth, all with two outs. After Gabe McHugh singled to lead off the bottom of the inning and was sacrificed to second by Taylor Fuerst, Buffalo’s Zach Leiten got a strikeout and groundout to end the game and the Muskies’ season. Coyle, an 18-year veteran, led the team with five home runs while eight-year Muskie Andrew Olszewski led the team with 34 hits.
