Dr. Alvin Francis Decuir Sr., 90, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Born on November 17, 1935, to the late Frank Decuir Sr. and Bernadette Ethel Decuir, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Ann Decuir; his daughter, Jocelyn Fontenot Lange; and his siblings, Eula Mae Mathis Bertrand, Delores Hornsby, Frank Decuir Jr., Dallas Decuir, Carolyn Bassett, and Patricia Honoré. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary "Tee" Decuir; his brother, Ronald Decuir Sr.; his children, Jerome Fontenot (former wife, Philomena), Angela Jones (Pat), Reinette Gills (Terry), Rosalyn Honoré (Charles Jr.), Julie Decuir, Alvin Decuir Jr. (Pansy), Doyle Fontenot (Gina), Darlene Perry (Donte), Shawn Decuir (Marita), and Jennifer Decuir (Winston Jr.); 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Jude Catholic Church in honor of Dr. Decuir.
