For almost a month now, a new weather camera has been operational on the Floyd County communications tower near Rockford. Emergency Management Agency Director Jason Webster says the camera, at nearly 300 feet up, will help officials, the public, and the National Weather Service keep an eye on threatening or severe weather. Earlier this year, the Floyd County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a one-time cost of almost $8,700, which covers the camera equipment, installation, and a 10-year licensing agreement.
