More than a week after the Dikhow River inundated large parts of Nazira Co-District, thousands of flood-affected families continue to struggle with damaged homes, silt-covered farmland and an uncertain future. Among the worst-hit areas are Santak and Bihubar, where many houses were either damaged or buried under thick layers of silt. Residents say the floods destroyed homes, crops, livestock and household belongings, leaving many families displaced. Residents and volunteers also expressed concern over discarded plastic bottles and other relief-related waste scattered across flood-affected areas. As recovery continues, flood-affected families say immediate relief must be followed by long-term rehabilitation, including restoration of homes, farmland and public infrastructure.
