A Gardiner woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle, head-on crash in Randolph, police said. Despite lifesaving efforts by rescue personnel, Debra Alexander, 62, of Gardiner, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troy Simonds, 18, of Gardiner, a passenger in the Nissan being driven by Alexander, was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, with severe injuries, Read said. Gardiner Fire and Rescue extricated the crash victims from their vehicles. Gardiner police assisted the sheriff’s office in closing the roadway, which reopened to traffic at 3:58 p.m.
