What seems to have ended the spree is when an armed civilian, at great risk to himself, started firing back, driving the shooter away from the scene. Elisjsha “Eli” Dicken, a 22-year-old civilian legally carrying a handgun, fired at the attacker and killed him. In each instance, thankfully, most of the people in those venues did not become sitting ducks because someone already there was a legally armed good guy. In the hands of good people, they do good things. And in Twin Falls, luckily for the people at the In-N-Out, a good person had a gun in his hands.
