SRINAGAR: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) on Sunday intensified its enforcement against traffic violations in Rajouri district, issuing 55 challans, seizing six vehicles, recommending suspension of five driving licences and imposing fines exceeding Rs 1.11 lakh.
Overall, the campaign resulted in 55 challans, fines amounting to Rs 1,11,600, seizure of six vehicles and recommendations for suspension of five driving licences for offences under the Motor Vehicles Act.
ARTO Malik said the department would continue such enforcement drives regularly to curb traffic violations and ensure safer roads.
He urged motorists to carry valid vehicle documents, follow traffic rules, avoid overloading and overspeeding, and cooperate with enforcement teams.
The drive was conducted by officials of the Motor Vehicles Department, including Motor Vehicle Inspector Lakhvinder Singh and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Nitin, along with other enforcement personnel.
